You have a point, especially with being places where you can shoot something in any direction and have a good shot. But I think you probably feel that way about Hamilton because you've spent enough time there that you almost have to shy away from the "main" things for shots that interest you. Whenever I travel I try to get away from the main touristy places/vantage points because I know they've been shot to death anyway. I enjoy shooting my personal experiences and try to stay away from the cliche, which I guess is why I prefer traveling to places not so common as tourist places.
