very very nice :0)
100% more with the mini mal on the roof
I completely get the money sink thing!
I don't understand kids these days.
My two eldest have spend so much money on their cars.
My daughter has spent $45,000 (yes got the zeros right) doing up her 1993 Honda Civic!
argghh don't remind me!!
she was having a 'year off' before UNI, and got too committed with the car, and now can't afford to stop working to study!
Here are some pics she has sent me.
and its still far from finished
many dramas have gone down too
sorry, i don't mean to hijack the thread!
Nice car - I had one of those in 1989Sold it for 300 quid, it was mint.
Never been able to work the car thing out. Been in some VERY fast ones but can't get my head around the cost. I'm still running around in 'the ute' she's been in the family for 20ish year's and still doesn't cost much.![]()
Hmm looks like it got stolen and stripped between april and oct 2008??
she decided she wanted to change the colour from white to black, hence the strip down.
unfortunately the big delay has been the car painter who took her $6000 cash up front, and then bailed on her for 10 months doing nothing on the car.
So she has learnt a lot along the way thenDo you want some heavies to go pay a visit?
ha, believe me, I know a ton myself who could have visited, but she never told me who it was.
the guy who did her first body kit customisation committed suicide, so she didn't want to rark the painter guy who was going through some life dramas too.
yes, she has been on a STEEP learning curve
Im with you on that count
Ive never spent more that $3500 for a car in over 25 years. Did own a RX7 series1 13a once. Got it up to 180km hr on the southern motorway one day, needed a tune should have done 210km hr. Got very light in the steering at that speed.
Oh this was BC (before childrean)![]()
no she won't get it all back but it looks a gas guzzler and high insurance so she's only gonna go backwards while she has it. best to cut your losses, curb your lifestyle (cheap car if no public transport) and get the debt reduced as quickly as possible (reduce the interest).
Oh to be young again .........no thanks.
I was way to shy back then![]()
@weka2000 - I don't think I've ever spent more than $2000 on a car in 25 years myself. I bought a Mazda Luce with a 13b for $1200 in 98 and edged it up to about 150 was blimin scarey! you did 180?? argh . I ended up blowing it up.
My daughter is going to use the Civic as a show car, its got those hydraulic air bags, customised interior.
Shes got a 4wd and a 78 ford escort (mint) too.
My first two cars were austin 1300's, a '72 and a '74 . At 15, my boyfriend then and I reconditioned the engine, bored it out to a 1495, straight pipe to a Kobe, buttoned fun fur interior, including roof, the dice, possom skin sun blinkers (we shot and skinned them). It flew, and we were cool. ha ha, ah to be young again.
The most expensive car I ever bought blew two engines in 18 months, I scrapped it with it owing me 30 grand.
Last time I buy a Mitsi.
My wife wrote mine off
at Phoam .... possom skin that would be nice and soft![]()
The brother inlaw has a very nice car I must admit, one of those BOSS Falcon thing's. Then he put another 30G+ into the motor. 400+ break horse power. What gear do you want to smoke up in? That's right, it smokes them all!!!
