I guess the "waterfall thing" will pass..

Vivian Falls is part of Harkers Reserve, south of the Waikato River near Onewhero.

Wow, beautiful! 1 & 2 for me.

What an amazing place.
Need a model draped on that rock, though I imagine that water would hit pretty hard!

Trust me if you have a love for waterfalls it will never pass. Been at it for years.
When I go somewhere I always look what waterfalls are there.

Best to shoot waterfalls on overcast days saves blowing out sky.

Yep I can see that - I've been trying to find a balance with perhaps a cloudless day to add some vibrancy but can see a good overcast will be better! Will wait for the right day and head back out there - it's a fun spot!

Today was fairly overcast with some nice dark showers moving through. Heeding Weka's advice above, I headed back to the scene of my earlier crime to see if I could sort the skies out. Apart from waiting for a decent cloud to fill the sky, I experimented with various exposure settings and tried a GND on the front to temper the sky a tad. There's only one spot near the waterfall to set up which means I'm always shooting upward. I think today was an improvement on the first trek...

How hight are they? I also think there is another set out port waikato just before you head in to the town take a left. Looks like its on private land. You can see them from the road.
With all this rain waterfall season has started again.

Thanks weka. My guess is 15 metres high? I'll have a look for the ones near Port Waikato. I want to head out and have a look at the Nikau Caves out that way also.
