I didn't even really realise it was a flickr like thing. I was more looking at the pretty pictures than thinking about joining up. I'm not very good at the sharing photo thing, I pretty much only put pics up here. Do you guys do it to 'share' or is it more of a backup thing?

I just thought that the quality of the photos on this site is a lot higher than some of the others out there, I like looking at good pics for inspriation, helps keep up on the latest processing fads too I guess.

Good to see you guys photos on 500px, I have paid out and use it almost exclusively now. In fact even deleted my Flickr account.

I find the site great from the perspective of seeing what other photographers are doing without having to wade through heaps of stuff put up by people wanting to show grandma the little darling grand kids and what not.

I have dicovered a way to link to photos on 500px (your own only though, doesnt work unless its your photo and your logged in) Select the photo so it is full screen, select edit and as it is loading the edit image right click copy image location.

Also love the new Lightroom Plugin for export directly to 500px.

Several good iPhone/iPad apps for veiwing it as well.

how are feedbacks on 500px? are there groups you have to send your picture to like flickr? currently on flickr atm and hearing good stuff about 500px.

Use the free option it is the same as paid except limited in frequency of upload and storage amout. There are categories etc but it a lot simpler than flickr. It is not designed to be a rating site as such, but if you do get rated it is a good feeling

Have replied via 500px. One of the features I like is being able to direct people to my photos on the site with a very simple url

Henry, when I first saw the shortened style URL my immediate reaction was grh a spammer has gotten in here, using your full url http://hlawrphotos.wordpress.com/ makes it more identifiable as not being spammers.

The site is simple and clean, the only thing I didn't like was the changing contrast levels on the images as you mouse over them, it detracts a lot from the image IMHO.

Henry shortened urls are IMO nasty and potentially dangerous.

This thread is also about 500px, not personal blogs.

Your post came over very similar to what a spammer would post.

Stop spamming your blog everywhere you have a bunch of threads about it already.
