Hey Arthur , any idea where I can buy an SCR ?

I tried a normal 100 amp 30 volt solid state relay with a security battery - it takes a while to blow so I've ordered a 3 farad capacitor
to help it a bit .

The best I could do with this is 1/30th sec to get the slow melt of the wire - it would be good to be able to work with safe voltages so
hopefully I can connect the large capacitor and get some extra kick in the power output but I think it would be really good to have
an SCR that can handle 330 volts and high current .

Jaycar over in Frankton will have what you want

You want to go for the fastest gate switch timing you can get even if you have to compromise the volt/amp rating a little.

I was in jaycar this morning and the best they had was the 30 volt 100 amp solid state relay .
I asked around and got shown a link and ordered this SCR[?] . I should have it by Monday afternoon hopefully .

Anyway it's way past my bedtime - going to go and catch up on some sleep now
