Well it's one of those nights uploaded and gone where the hell to is anyones guess. Have taken a few deep breaths and used common language. To cut a short story , shorter. Shot this tonight , dismal night for super moon .break in clouds yay hallelujah ! Bummer reflection on lens , two moons, crappy . Used the extend of my manual setting knowledge. Lens 75-300. Did i position the camera badly or used wrong settings ?

Good catch,(like cricket or baseball)
Yesterdays try (Late arvo/early evening), it took a while , camera on tripod by this shrub ,focused on leaves , then moon etc. Leaves were not as focused as what i wished.. Certainly photoshopped in the layer situation and sharpening etc.

Here's my effort from the weekend.
Bloody shutter-release battery ran out and camera/70-200mm & 1.4x TC bit heavy for my aging tripod, causing the pic to be a wee bit less than optimal fully zoomed, so a good degree of clarity/sharpness manipulation in Lightroom...
Cheers

Very bright moon last night. Cold though, so couldn't be bothered shooting it!
Got a couple...
...and the moon by itself...
...and then, early this morning...
...and a few that were facing the opposite direction...
...and three seperate planes...

Wow great stuff stic!
Those are what I was hoping to see, great with the turbines and all! Plane shots are cool, I'd crop most of the bottoms off and make them panorama looking.
Absolutely top shots Stic ! I too really like the wind turbines shots and never even thought about taking any shots of the reflecting light on the other side ..very cool![]()
Auckland was predictably cloudy at the wrong times.

Not bad Steve, the multiple exposure one is cool.

My first time posting here, so apologies in advance for any errors.(The double post of picture is to get larger size) Above is 2 exposures merged. Below is the night before after the damn clouds cleared:

My shot of the SuperMoon.. Cheers
Hi Paul Skinner, welcome.
I like the weird alien landing that first one seems to portray. Second is certainly crisp, looks like the moon!
Like yours too Mr Light, nice with the soft blue halo of cloud. Bit more mood than just the jet black I feel.
I came across this moon shot from last November which is pretty close to apogee, making it the anti-Supermoon (? Lex Luthor Moon)
It's a pity I didn't have a better shot from the weekend but you can still see the difference in size. Same camera, lens and file resolution. Photoshop ruler says 14% difference in size.

Perigrine moon, Rotorua Sunday evening
Interesting Steve!
Lovely shot Trish, great colour!
Great job all! Now lets see who scores a copy of the next issue of D-Photo; vote for your favourite Supermoon shooter.
Ok so first time here. Found the supermoon frustrating but did some shots on Saturday and some on Sunday. Now looking at buying longer lens (any excuse)
Anyways here are 2 I liked, the museum had help from photoshop
