J1 plus D40 plus SCR = fun ! :)

My new Nikon J1 arrived a few days ago and I got it mainly for the high speed video . Today I set up my SCR switched capacitor wired to my Nikon D40 hotshoe to burst a piece of wire wrapped around a balloon - and filmed it at 400fps on the J1 .





























Next time I will fill the balloon with water [lpg? perhaps] and photograph it at the J1's maximum of 60 frames per second in full resolution - I think it will look pretty good .
I think the J1 is a powerful tool that will provide me with hours of fun and help me accomplish a lot of what I have been wanting to do .

Not missing the 'thunk' that people ask about at all [" Why is your camera making that noise?" ].
I'm really liking this J1 , I'll post some pictures soon from our mock wedding shoot we just got home from .
My wife and I were the subjects but I got to do a bit with the J1 in between .

Today I got a butterfly taking off - a bit fuzzy but still looks ok .
