The video ...
I'm busy processing the videos now but I managed to time a few rapid fire shots with the J1 - I think I need a faster card because I didn't get many shots at 60fps.

Need to get a plain background. Oil based paint with thinners mixed in could get interesting.
Cool as how the water stays in shape for a moment after the balloon has burst. Plain back ground (sheet on washing line or whatever ) and maybe food colour in water or jelly would put another little perspective on your experiment...i like it![]()
I know the background is ugly - at the moment I'm still trying to perfect the technique so I can get creative without wondering if I'll get the shot
I've done this all before but at night so it was easier to have a plain background . Food coloring does add to the image .....
But this is all a very new form of photography where I'm actually using fast shutter speeds instead of flash to freeze the motion - while the act of pressing the shutter is what triggers the event . At the moment I'm trying to piece the project together one bit at a time - first I needed to see what the water would look like when the SCR has been triggered by the pre-flash and the resulting lag of when the photo is actually taken gives me the image - now I still need to get a cool stand for it and try to work some form of gas explosion into the equation - before I even start thinking about backgrounds .
Paint and thinners etc. does sound interesting - the trick is getting the stuff into the balloons ..... and keeping the yard clean[oh yes , and not getting the neighbors to phone the cops
