Finally took the 650B for ride yesterday. For once the marketing hype matches up with real world performance.
As some reviews have sad you do feel the bigger wheel slightly on first few pedals, but once rolling its better and on any sniff of a downhill it picks up speed like a rocket.
On tight twisty stuff no issues, same as 26 really and way better than a clumsy 29er.
Only real issue is being so much faster out of the box (not even dialled in yet) everywhere.
Sorry no pics yet, too busy riding and adjusting stuff

A quick side on shot in the shed of my new baby. Can't get far enough back for the right focal length to hide the other fork leg for the classic side on shot.
Also the extra 10cm wheelbase and raked out front end makes backdrop suddenly no wide enough to bring bike away from it for better lighting.
Some detail shots to follow Shot with the 24-105 and on occasion with the tripod centre column raised

Yep 160mm front n rear, using just about all of it already too

Yeah saw the recall thing, pretty sure it was for 2013 bikes not 2014 gear, announced back in August. Prob why slashes were so late. Mate ordered his in Aug for Nov delivery, didn't turn up till mid jan along with mine which ordered in Dec.
think Trek would have sorted it before shipped.
Lost a mino link at Rotovegas and they had me sorted in two days, pretty good service

Finally done the Cat Eye Moon Ride at Rotovegas on Saturday. Our team of five riders did the 12hr and finished 8 out of 18 teams which was alright as more of a social ride group than competitive.
Few quick images with Fuji in between rides. Was great weekend even with crashing thee times and won(spot prize) a watch at prize giving.

New 2ndhand bike brought it for $1400 off trade me,these retail for $4500.But has some battle scar's on it but otherwise in good condition.Brought a set of Easton Havens for it so now running tubeless too.Threw away the handlebar and put on a 720mm carbon bar instead.Goes great but a bit light in the front when climbing them steep hills.

And so I have also been reducing the weight on trek rumblefish, brought another set of Easton Haven's for it and had to buy a conversion kit to change rear hub to 12x142 pretty simple to do,$49.00 for a Easton Axle sleeve in New Zealand and same one in the USA sells for $4.00 big mark up.Changed crank set to a XT 2x10 and a XT cassette, original crank set was just under 1kg in weight.Added a 720mm Carbon bontrager handlebar and also running tubeless a set of Schwable Nobby Nic Evo's.Bike has dropped a lot in weight now so very pleased with it and bloody good for climbing.

Nice. Had that light frond nod climbing bob problem on the fuel, glad I didn't go the Scott Lt740 or LT720 option now. The Slash is quite long wheelbase and climbs sweet, traction great too. Done some nasty clumsy front end landings and other shenanigans lately at he front end just deals to it, touchwood!
Put about 900km on slash. 10 spd chain feels like it might need replacing, must check it.
will have to look up those hoops, need some stiffer wheels...

One year on and the Rock Shox stealth has lived down to its reputation... seriously never seen so much bad feedback online about a big ticket product and its backup....
So into the bin (well trademe I guess) and replaced with Thomson

Haven't been around here for a while - only have mobile internet at the moment too.

LOL Posted I must of been riding with you for a bit or something as I got a VERY similar time for my first 'poti this year. Then I realized that post was a few years old. Guess the threads been dormant for a while, I thought a couple of those pics looked familiar.

Been on the bike a bit recently, but haven't used the camera in ages due to a couple of personal reasons. Did manage to lug it out for a ride recently though:

    Happy riding and photographeringoering all!
