nice set #5 is my favorite. Do you do a lot of motorsport?
Missioned up from Wellington and came back with some snaps... and some flu.

^ Got to this stage quite early so the marshals let me walk down the road and pick a spot. Solberg cut this more than anyone else cutting a new line through the bank.

^ Hella Bridge was by far the most dramatic viewing spot.

^ The light here seemed better after the fast cars had been through. Half the crowd had left after the international drivers to try and get them at the next stage.

^ You could tell the skill difference between drivers by the line they took through a single corner. Each corner = .01 seconds quicker = a huge differance over a stage. The more committed drivers seemed to not know what driving straight ahead is.

^ The crowd loved getting behind local legend Paddon.

^ Love some of the classic cars that come through later.
Things learnt for next time:-
Take gumboots
Don't just check the destination of the GPS is right on the map, but the whole route!
First event I have been to where the fast drivers come through first, took me by surprise the first stage.

I'd like to. I have done a few of the Targa Rally events. These are really good as you can drive down the roads if your at least 15 min before they are closed and get yourself and the car right off the road. You can really pick your spots and a lot more cars come through.
Really enjoyed shooting the WRC but was a bit jealous of the spots the official shooters could get.I was actually hoping for some epic dust trails but it was too wet.
Everyone else kept saying it was good the dust was down but I hadn;t shot gravel before so was looking forward to it.
Cool shots, Wozza.
Looks like a little too much oversteer in #1!

But didn't get hit by anything big.
All WRC shots were either by a 20mm f1.8 Sigma EX Prime or 70-200mm f1.8 Sigma Ex. UV filters are good insurance for stone chips.
Ah my back yard, I can see part the Waipu Gorge stage from my deck.
