We had one of those tables... last sighted in the late eighties. Lovely form and function compared to some of the slabs of glass and layered ply that passes for coffee tables now.

I just bought myself an old Phillips radiogram to play some of the old vinyl we have, nice piece of mahogany furniture as well. It's fun to use when there are people.

This is it ended up $163.00, the people let me go through their records and pick what I wanted as well as giving me a bag of odd photo gear.

Despite the older tech, many of those produced a very nice tone...

My grandfather brought a Grundig Radio/phonogram back in the 60's, I grew up with it and it's still at my parents place...still works too, beautiful sound...

    Almost identical to this:

Oh, yes, that's a beaut. Make sure you tell them not to sell it. There are people putting bose systems in them with ipod docks etc.

I' ve got a couple in my retro collection , they are both still in good working order . Occasionally they get a groove with the LPs but not much .

We've got one of those tables - Mrs Finster spends too much time at wastebusters relieving them of cool old furniture, our house looks like my house looked in the 70's. But she gets me some bloody good vinyl there as well.

    Nice shot stic.

Sounds like our house mrfinster and i totally love wastebusters one of the most frequented shops when we go to Wanaka ..which means Mrs Finster is in for some heavy duty competition next week , unless Arrow town has one too in which case you are talking about another establishment.

I don't live in Arrowtown any more - further north in Ashvegas - Mrs Finster has been supplying her mate's shop in Arrowtown with Wastebusters stuff from up here

Really must update my profile thing

Some of these things will become quite sought after I recon.
I really like the idea of playing the old LP's on the gear they were meant for.

I have a few albums on vinyl...mostly Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden (oh, and the 'Concert for Bangladesh' Box set). Also have around 250 albums on cassette (of which, maybe 50 are doubled up on CD)...haven't owned a 'tape deck' in a few years though...

I do have a few CD's too...about 400...and, no; none of them feature 'Idol' winners or 'boy bands'...
