Wow, some people have a lot of money! And that would be nice and cosy with 20 people....

I did a tour with Bevan Tulett (http://www.hedgehoghouse.com/hedgeho...hGalleryID=289) in 2009. 7 nights and was supposed to be up to 6 people but ended up only 3 of us. Cost was $1200 including accommodation. He stopped doing them after that, I guess at those rates and with low numbers it wasn't worth it.

I've often wondered if some travel destinations (Egypt in particular) would be better on a photography tour or with a guide with a photographic emphasis. Just so you get to places a right-light-o'clock and hopefully less crowds. Some of the African ones look to be a similar price to non-photographic trips.

Definitely worth it for me. At the time I hadn't done any travelling for photography purposes so it was just good to let someone else do the location research and driving. I think if they weren't so expensive I'd definitely go on some overseas, I'd be a bit hesitant driving so much in a foreign country especially to some remote locations.

I would love to be driven around scenic locations staying in nice places. Turn my brain off, relax, take photo's of beautiful scenery and talk photography with like minded individuals. It would be nice if the tours weren't too large 8-10 people would be OK. I've probably been to about half the spots mentioned and then I wasn't packing a camera. I'll get back to the South Island sometime hitching or driving. Dreams are free, if I won Lotto...

Without a word of a lie , if i had that kind of money available it would be going towards updating camera and investing in a new lens or two. I would'nt even consider a guided tour for intrepid travel photography..get your own shots and travel intrepidly is my suggestion . I wouldn't like your idea of travel photography rob but that's just me.

If I won Lotto my camera kit would probably stretch beyond the P7100 that I'm using at the moment for sure. I think I'm kind of interested as it's something I will probably never be able to afford, my journeys are usually intrepid due to budgetary constraints. I've driven a lot of NZ in my life and to be honest it's not always fun as I have a a bad back. Having someone else drive, not to mention having the room to get up and stretch sounds like heaven.

I wouldn't upgrade any of my gear, I still need to learn to get the most out of what I have. If money was no object I would certainly
pay someone else to guide me around a strange destination to perhaps get an idea of what I would like to see on my own 'next time' I go there.

If we start talking about winning lotto we could do the lot. I like the idea of that one where the cruise ship is in fiordland area, you'd get some dramatic coastline shots you wouldnt other wise. Wonder if they let you out on deck in bad weather...
